Introduce DLD
History
The
Department of Livestock Development (DLD) was established on 5 May 1942
having the status as a department in Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
The Central office is situated on Phayathai Road, Bangkok
The Department of Livestock Development’s duties and
responsibilities based on the new frame work of Ministry of Agriculture
and Cooperatives are to develop and increase the potential of livestock
industry in several aspect such as production, quality and safety of livestock
products.
DLD Duties and Responsibilities

To proceed directly with 6 legislations :
<> Law of Animal Epidemics
<> Law of Animal Husbandry
<> Law of Animal Feed Quality Control
<> Law of Animal Clinics
<> Law of Rabies
<> Law of Animal slaughter Control and Sale of
Meats
-
To proceed in co-operation with other related legislations
- To proceed others in accordance with any stipulated legislations, including
the Ministerial and Cabinet assignments
- To study and research on animal production, breeding and propagation,
including animal nutrition
- To conserve animal genetic resources and biodiversity
- To protect environment from livestock farming
- To develop, inspect and certify quality of livestock products on sanitary
and consumer safety standards
- To produce and provide veterinary biologics and drugs of international
standards
- To study and research on veterinary epidemiology of animal diseases
including zoonoses, in prevention, control and eradication
- To study, analyse, research and develop higher technology for transfer
to livestock production, health, hygiene and sanitary
issues that effect on national economy
