Introduce DLD
Vision
The
Department of Livestock Development is the main organization who is responsible
for research and development on technology in livestock production, to
produce safe and wholesome animal products which are both sufficient for
domestic consumption and international market competition on the basis
of natural resources reservation and sustainable production.
Missions
1. To research, develop and transfer technology in animal health and production
2. To standardize, control, inspect and certify livestock product quality
and manufacturers
3. To develop efficient productions by improving animal health, animal
breeding and livestock extension
Strategies
1. To enhance production efficiency
2. To improve product quality and safety from farm to table
3. To provide accessible livestock services
Organization
structure
The
administration of DLD is divided into 2 parts; central and provincial
administrations. The Central Administration, located in Bangkok is composed
of divisions, 15 bureaus office of Department Secretary, National Institute
of Animal Health, Information Technology Centre, Internal Auditing Unit,
and Administrative Development Unit.
Provincial
Administration comprises 76 Provincial Livestock offices (PLOs) consisting
of 847 Unit of District level to cooperate with 7800 Sub-District Agricultural
Technology Transfer Centers nationwide. In the village level there are
34,197 Voluntary Livestock Workers who are responsible for DLD’s jobs.
